In Al Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth”, he shows a graph that parallels the temperature of the earth, and its atmospheric carbon dioxide, over the last six hundred thousand years. At the end of the chart he’s carried up in a lift cart to be able to reach and point to today’s atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide. Once we understand the significance of this graph we will comprehend the urgency of our planet’s current climate crisis

This makes the threat of global terrorism seem almost insignificant. If we fail to act immediately, untold massive suffering will be an unavoidable consequence. All the green technology needed to move us away from foreign oil and to reduce carbon dioxide is already here now.

Powerful energy supply corporations, motivated solely on their own profits, continue to have a vested interest in keeping the current system in place. It has obviously served them very well to keep alternative energy solutions out of our reach.
As part of an informed public we can all participate in implementing intelligent solutions. We can help to form organizations which will support a shift away from a carbon based economy into a more sustainable and life affirming way of life.
